As we enjoyed the beautiful views on the top of Mount Martson and worked our hardest on repairing the burnt over trail we had some visitors along the way.

Each member gained a little more insight on what it means to truly be a steward of the land.

Together we make up one of the four wilderness restoration teams out of the Missoula office in the Western Wildlands region. We have spent our season doing a large variety of work, far more than just weed spraying, in the Seeley Lake Ranger District.

I Love My Crew

You feel as if the new trail you created with your crew is your baby. You feel proud and never want to leave it. You have a personal connection with every person that will ever walk that trail, whether they know it or not.

I came to MCC from an application found in an environmentally focused job list online. I’d never been out west and had a low key obsession with trails and the idea of mountains. If I’m being honest, I didn’t know what to expect when I dropped out of the life I was living in Michigan to move out to Montana.
