A Park for the City

Building a bike track for the first week wasn’t the hardest work, excepting the sunburn, rain, hail, and temperature fluctuations. These elements made it less than easy to repair the bike track. The dirt was either completely sunbaked, or it was mud. The work felt like a flash of glory, a good deed to help those I don’t know. It was gratifying to see people come by everyday to check on our progress and to eagerly see if we were finished. It felt amazing to give something back to the community in the form of a bike track. The work was at times tedious, but the finished product was amazing. About 500 pulled weeds, a mile or more of track laid, and at least half a ton of dirt laid later, we made a community park a place for all to play, walk dogs, ride their bikes, and have an all-around good time.
