Earth Day is upon us again and there are more ways than ever to get involved and show how you are getting things done for the planet.

Especially here in Montana, there are reasons all around us to continue the movement to build a healthy and sustainable world. The environment we love is one worth protecting and one of the ways to show your support is through the Montana Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) efforts to celebrate Montanans in the outdoors.

Earth Day’s theme this year is Trees for the Earth, kicking off an effort to plant 7.8 billion trees by 2020! So whether you are out planting trees or enjoying your local park, just post a picture to social media of how you connect to the outdoors using #MTearth16. Then visit http://bit.ly/1MF9SoV to see all the photos! (See attached flyer for more info) And for a map of Earth Day events in your area visit http://www.earthday.org or check your local events calendar!

Let’s strive to not only get out on Earth Day, but to get out there all year and get things done!
