- What's a backcountry shower?
A backcountry shower includes anything that helps you bathe while on a project. Things like portable showers hung from trees, buckets or pails used for a sponge bath, or washing your face and hands in a creek all qualify as a backcountry shower.
- What will we do during the evenings?
In a crew community, there is never a shortage of chores to do each night. Typically, each crew takes turns prepping meals, filtering water, cleaning-up, building a fire, etc. Some members will have free time to change, play games, or help with dinner. After dinner and clean-up, your leaders will have a wide variety of activities planned for you. Games, learning knots, and roasting s'mores are a few things crews have done in the past.
- What will we do on the weekends?
Great question! The answer is that it varies. Sometimes your leaders will plan visits to parks, recreational events, or historical sites in the areas you're working. Other times, you'll spend your weekends doing laundry and preparing for your next project. It’s important to be flexible but you can also let your leaders know you're interested in an area or event.
