Invasive weeds have been found in every county in Montana.  The expense for farmers to treat these weeds is enormous, but the ecological impact of these invasive species on our wilderness is immeasurable.  This summer the MCC’s Weed Strike Team treated over 400 acres of invasive weeds in the wilderness.  This treatment ranged from spraying in the Selway-Bitterroot to releasing weevils in the Frank Church.  The crew also monitored each ecosystem to provide a baseline upon which to measure future progress.  By fighting and studying these infestations the MCC is working to preserve some of our last untouched ecosystems.
