Community Volunteer Day

When: Thursday, July 19 at 9am - 3pm
Where: Montana Wild - FWP (2668 Broadwater Ave, Helena, MT 59602)
Who: Montana Conservation Corps-Veterans Green Corps, Montana State Parks
What: We will restore and re-paint the mews (raptor housing) at FWP’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and re-stain the fishing pier at Spring Meadow Lake State Park.
For: Volunteers of all ages and abilites are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Volunteers should bring a water bottle and wear clothes appropriate for working outside. A free volunteer lunch along with networking opportunities for Helena-area veterans will take place at the Spring Meadow Lake State Park Pavilion from noon until 1 pm. Even if you can join us for just an hour, we would love to have you.

Wildlife Speaker Series - Zebra & Quagga Mussels

When: Wednesday, June 27 at 6pm - 8pm
Where: Jack Creek Preserve (Directions)
Who: MCC's Big Sky Watershed Corps member Quincey Johnson is working with Wildlife Conservation Society to put on a series of talks on wildlife this summer (Calendar of Events)

Join WCS for the first event of their annual Summer Speaker Series, where we will learn all about aquatic invasive species! We will kick off the evening at 6:00 PM with a community potluck dinner at the Jack Creek Preserve Outdoor Education Center, so bring your favorite dish to share. Our feature event will begin at 7:00 with a presentation from Kate Wilson of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. 

The gate on the private Jack Creek Road will be open on both the Ennis and Big Sky sides. Please carpool, as parking is limited at the Preserve. We strongly suggest driving a vehicle with 4WD.
