Courtney Naumann | Bozeman

Courtney has worked across the West building and facilitating programming for people connected to the land through use, ownership, play, and spirit. Originally from Arizona, she spent each summer on her family’s dryland wheat farm on Montana’s hi-line which developed her appreciation of wide horizons and open spaces. Following four seasons, she attended Colorado State University where she earned a B.S. in Natural Resource Recreation & Tourism with minors in International Development and Ecological Restoration.

Courtney’s expertise includes systems thinking, project management, and technical assistance with strong commitments to equity and cultivating spaces for connection. This led her to work as a Resource Planner for the King Conservation District in western Washington, Agricultural Stewardship Program Manager for American Farmland Trust’s Pacific Northwest region, and Lands Project Manager for Gallatin Valley Land Trust in southwestern Montana. Currently, Courtney is the Stewardship Manager for Headwaters Community Housing Trust and its Bridger View neighborhood near Story Mill Community Park in Bozeman.

For four years, Courtney served on King County’s Conservation Futures Advisory Committee and its equity subcommittee to allocate over $30 million annually to open space and natural resource projects. She’s a graduate of Washington AgForestry Leadership’s Class 41 and currently serves as the Vice President for the Northwest Community Land Trust Coalition. Courtney’s energy and advocacy have long been committed to conservation and social impact, and she is elated to commit to MCC as a Board member as the organization continues its stellar work!
