Jack Stark - Field Coordinator
Jack (he/him/his) is excited to join the team at the Central Divide Office as an FC to help facilitate all the amazing work that our leaders and crew members get to accomplish in this upcoming season!
Jack grew up among the juniper-filled peaks and valleys of the central Texas hill country where he gained an appreciation for the outdoors at an early age. Curious to expand his knowledge about the natural world he studied Biology and Environmental Sciences at Southwestern University just north of Austin. During his college years, he was introduced to the world of the Conservation Corps, serving in North Carolina during the summer after his junior year. Following graduation, he worked in a variety of outdoor/biology-oriented jobs. After a short stint in graduate school, he settled into a career as a wetlands and streams scientist in the environmental consulting industry. This career path gave Jack a wealth of knowledge in wetland and stream ecology, however, after a few years he found himself desiring a more conservation-focused career. This brought Jack to Helena, and MCC, in 2024 as a mesic restoration field crew leader. After an amazing season, Jack decided to return to Central Divide as Field Coordinator hoping to bring his experience and knowledge to our mesic restoration field program.
When Jack isn’t working you can find him around Helena loitering in coffee shops, impulse buying books, scrambling around in the south hills, or whining about Montana weather.
