Volunteer Opportunities

As part of your term with Montana Conservation Corps, you're asked to volunteer your time to assist other local community nonprofits. This is a way for you to not only understand the culture of your host city but also allows you to play an active role within the community. You can find an extensive list of nonprofit organizations to volunteer for by clicking this link. Here are some organizations alumni have recommended in the past.

Habitat for Humanity - is always looking for skilled and unskilled individuals and groups to partner in the building process. There is always a place for every individual on their work sites.

The Flathead Food Bank - Flathead Food Bank is a nonprofit community organization whose mission is to provide temporary, emergency food assistance to those in need. They operate the main pantry in Kalispell and four satellite pantries in the Flathead Valley, as well as several other programs.

Assist in providing shoppers with an excellent experience that will bring them back again and again. Or if you prefer, work behind the scenes with internet sales, prepping items for sale, and doing research to find out their value!

The Flathead County Animal Shelter - Flathead County Animal Shelter always needs more volunteers to help in the office, walk dogs, groom cats, and so on. Volunteer orientations are held at on the first Saturday of every month, from 1-2. Please contact FCAS at 406-752-1310 for more information on volunteer opportunities.

Montana State Parks - Montana State Parks offer volunteer opportunities for individuals of all ages, families with children, as well as service groups and clubs. Whether you can spend an hour, a day or a season, you’re sure to find something to match your interests and help visitors and future generations enjoy these special places, too.
