For our final and last hitch, the Western Wildlands Immersion Crew flew into Moose Creek Ranger Station located in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. As a cut-and-run crosscut crew, we were clearing Freeman Peak after the Wye Fire crisped most of the countryside. Spending nine days in soot and barren landscape had the crew feeling solemn but greatly accomplished. The majority of our season was spent living off the trail 20 miles away! Flying into Moose Creek was a dream come true and was the perfect way to end a season!
