Dear Wilderpeople,

In Eureka, Montana there once was a crew, of six youngin’ who road in a rig,
who traveled about digging tread, in mountain, fields and river beds.
This is not all there is, but much more to go,
if you ask the mountain lions and bears they will tell you so!

In all seriousness, this is a true fairy tale of a youth crew based out of Eureka, Montana. I have had the pleasure of getting to work in the most beautiful place with some amazing and hard working youth that I’ve been around. The Ksanka Ranger District, gave us a free remote place to stay while we served out our service. We worked within multiple departments in the Forest Service, on anything from trails to silvi-culture. It was a true learning experience not only for the youth involved, but also I can say, I have learned more this summer than I have through all my years of college. The countryside and townsfolk of this area are the definition of what it mean to be hardworking Americans.
P.S. The Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a movie .. watch it!
