After 9 days in the front country near the Park Creek Trail in Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest our crew believes we have the answer to this question. Once we had spent a couple of days creating tread on a reroute on this trail we believe we know what the best MCC tool is. The answer is the ‘Bootmatic’. We define the ‘Bootmatic’ as the bottom of your work boot. It can be used for everything from smoothing out the tread, to getting dirt off of the new tread, to moving dirt up and down the tread, and most importantly giving your arms a quick rest.
One day, we were filling in a soggy spot on the trail and realized it was easier to fill it in by just stomping on it with our favorite tool the ‘Bootmatic’. Amy was in charge of stomping down the dirt and decided that using the ‘Bootmatic’ makes one feel like a penguin. So, we decided that by adding this penguin feeling to the features of our ‘Bootmatic’ most certainly makes it the best MCC tool around.
