The very first 9 day hitch!

A view of a meadow and forested hills

Prior to our first 9-day hitch, I couldn’t help but feel anxious as my crew members and I were traveling to Idaho, a destination farther than where we were working the last 2 hitches. The adventure began when we flew in a bush plane! Although terrifying, it truly was an experience of a lifetime. I have so many photos and videos to show for it! We began our 9-day hitch setting up camp and making our way to the airstrip. There, we removed invasive plants that have a negative effect on wildlife and our environment. Over the 9 days, the work was tough. We had battles with bugs, the sun was always out and shining on us all hours of the day and the wet grass in the morning was seriously no joke. Despite all of that, my crew and I have gotten closer. We all communicate and work together so well and even play cards and tell jokes to lighten this experience. It truly was a highlight of the 9-day hitch and I can’t wait to see them again soon for our 2nd hitch!
