A war with pollen

A crew member sits on a tailgate and blows their nose while another one stands next to them.

Our crew started this hitch with bright eyes and bushy tails. We had already been spraying invasive weeds for a few weeks, so we knew what to expect! One thing we didn’t anticipate was the plants fighting back against us… Suffering sniffles, and a cacophony of crippling coughs and sneezes, our two pollen adverse crewmates pulled through each day to get the job done. Each day they came prepared with Benadryl and bandanas in hopes of fighting off the flowering grasses and tree pollen. By the end of the week; armed with Flonase and eye drops, our team managed to spray almost 40 acres of invasive knapweed and thistle from the Gallatin Canyon.
