New Perspectives from the Trail

A crew takes a selfie on a hillside

My MCC experience has brought many new perspectives through the people and the environment which have fostered a new, beautiful light on my life. The mix of unique personalities within my crew created a group dynamic I had never experienced before. Although we all came from different backgrounds and views on life, we connected really well and my crew became my favorite group of people to be around. I learned a lot from each of them and loved getting to know them in their unique ways. They inspired me to be the best version of myself and helped me reach my personal goals. Along with that, they brought lots of laughter and positivity that created lifelong memories and friends. Spending the majority of my summer in the woods, away from modern life, was a very special experience for me. It deepened my connection with nature, while also enhancing self-reflection and personal growth. I developed a perspective on how nature is not separate from humans and should be treated as equal. It inspired me to take more action to protect Earth’s lands and wildlife. Along with that, spending time in the woods allowed me to reflect on life in ways I had never before. I realized I was the best version of myself on hitch because life felt peaceful and simple, which is something I plan to carry with me in my regular day-to-day life. I’m very grateful for my MCC experience and think that everyone should experience something like it.
