Beautiful things pt 2
They tell you when you join MCC you will see beautiful places and beautiful things
But they don’t tell you how hard it is to leave them

The prairie sunrise
The gorgeous sunset
The laughter with friends
The stars in the sky

Things so close they are family
So close they make up a piece of you

It is impossible to be here 6 months and not be changed by beautiful places and beautiful things
By the laughter
The tears
The memories

When I came here they told me I’d see beautiful places and beautiful things
From bison to birds
Cows to crows
Does to fawns

The pride on our faces as we finish a BDA
The grin when you tell a bad joke
The campfire circles
The terrible squat-agories

The vast prairie filled with creatures
The small waves on a lake
The cottonwood trees

All these beautiful places and beautiful things
Are now a part of me
And I’m forever different

And now I see beautiful places and beautiful things everywhere
