Foys to Blacktail Trails

This past hitch, my crew Ahdelle, Fox, Sean, Hope, and I spent time working with a local non-profit involved in the maintenance and funding of the trails in the Herron Park trails system. Brian Roland, our project partner, gave us guidance on the expectations of local trail specifications and supported us in learning how to build proper drains and complete high-quality corridor. With his support, we were able to complete over 5 miles of corridor clearing and install and clean over 50 drains in the Boundary, Overlook, Horse, and Direct Route trail systems.

We were so thankful to receive visits from our Field Coordinators Kenzie and Lucienne, and our Regional Director Gavin Wisdom. Kalispell locals were extremely thankful as Herron Park has an average of over 1,000 daily visitors. We received great praise for our work, and the kind faces of Kalispell contributed to the quality of our experience. We are excited for our other crews to get out to the Foys to Blacktail trail systems and experience the beauty that we spent our last hitch contributing to!
