MCC’s Individual Placement Programs place AmeriCorps members elbow to elbow with natural resource professionals in the field. Members serve with a host site organization gaining valuable hands-on training and experience. Members get personalized attention and engage with our custom curriculum to enhance their experience.
We’re passionate about the land and water and work hard to make sure it’s healthy and available for future generations. Our Individual Placement Programs are designed to meet these goals by collaborating with partners in the surrounding area. The program works with nearly one hundred different partners including federal/state agencies, Tribal Nations, Conservation Districts, nonprofits, and other community-based conservation organizations.
With such a vast array of partners and the broad portfolio of natural resource-related work, what a term of service can look like in an Individual Placement Program varies widely. Projects within the programs have included developed recreation, education and outreach, land management, soil research and monitoring, watershed and restoration research and planning, and much, much more.
