Using Your Education Award
The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a voucher that you are awarded (based on your number of hours served) after you complete your term of service and are exited from the program. It can only be used to pay for tuition and qualified student loans- but don't worry, "tuition" can cover many things! The National Service Trust manages it, not MCC. Remember, you must use it within 7 years after your term of service, and it is taxed in the year you use it.
To access it, go to your MyAmeriCorps portal or check out these additional resources below:

Non-Traditional Uses of the Ed Award
Here are some ideas to get you thinking:
Studying abroad, outdoor adventure/leadership courses, outdoor expedition, wilderness first aid/first responder, environmental ethics, outdoor skills, general leadership. Visit The International Wilderness Leadership School, National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and Outward Bound for more.
Community college classes (to learn or for fun)
Yoga Teacher Certification. Visit the Yoga Alliance list of schools for more.
Culinary school, massage therapy, aviation, certifications, cosmetology, acting school, and more! Practically anything you might want to learn, there is probably a way to use your Education Award for it.
